My name is Al Rogers, Jr. I am a Baltimore-born, Los Angeles-based costume designer and stylist working across fashion, music, editorial, and visual narrative. At the core of my practice is an interest in the relationship between clothing, identity, and environment, and how they can work together to build a larger visual world.
No matter the medium, I find joy in allowing clothes to tell stories, including a costume design credit on the 2026 short film See You, Soon, as well as costuming credits on We Own This City and Lady in the Lake, where I worked under Costume Designer Shiona Turini. Visually, I draw from equal parts nostalgia and futurism, approaching each project instinctively while remaining deeply attuned to the person, persona, or narrative at its center.
I’m fascinated by the way clothing can hold history, memory, and identity. I’m drawn to the imperfect, the unlikely, and the details that feel discovered rather than deliberately chosen. Whether I’m developing a character from the ground up, shaping an artist’s visual identity, or creating an image that feels authentically lived-in, I’m interested in creating something that feels both familiar and unique.
